Prabhu Ji

"There, a God, HIS name is Truth, HE is the Creator, HE is Lovable and kind, HE fears none, HE is without hate, HE never dies, HE is beyond the cycle of births and death, HE is self illuminated, HE is realized by the kindness of the true Guru. HE was True in the beginning, HE was True when the ages commenced and has ever been True, HE is also True now."

Yogeshwar Prabhu Shri Ram Lal Ji Maharaj

Lord Prabhu Shri Ram Lal Ji the founder of the YOG SADHAN ASHRAM was born at Amritsar (Punjab, India) on Thursday, March 21, 1888 A.D. (Chetra Shukla Navmi at 4:00 am / 6 Ghadi 56 Pal) on the auspicious day of Ram Navmi. His mother Mata Bhagwanti Ji was a great devotee of God and the father Shri Ganda Ram Ji was a renowned astrologer (Jyotishacharya). A great devotee of Lord Shiva and an astrologer of the Vedic age (Satayuga), Maharishi Kaka Bhushandi has predicted about the birth of Lord Prabhu Shree Ram Lal Ji in Satayuga. The same prediction of Maharishi Kaka Bhushandi is found in the "Komaar Nadi Grantha" in "Komaar Nadi Jyotishalya" at Madras city (Chennai).

Whenever righteousness is on the decline, and unrighteousness is in the ascendant, then I body Myself forth.

The Lord Prabhu Shree Ram Lal Ji, since his very childhood, was very fond of acquiring knowledge. At first he learnt science of astrology from his learned father and later on did deep study of Vedas, Shastras and Ayurveda from the famous teachers and yogis of Kurukshetra, Kankhala (Haridwar) and Kashi - Famous pilgrimage places of India. When his thirst for still higher knowledge was not fully satiated, he took a long itinerary for several years in search of a Yogi Guru. During his travel he met a number of Yogis in the jungles but no one dared to accept him as his disciple.

During his long journey in search of a True Preceptor, he accepted many people as his followers and showered his grace upon them. After several years of his devout search, he reached the Himalayas where Shri Mahaprabhu, the Lord Shiva, accepted HIM as HIS Shishya (disciple) and initiated him into the Ashtanga Yoga and passed into him all the eight Sidhis (powers) of Yoga.

At the behest of his Guru, Yogeshwar Prabhu Ram Lal Ji came to his native place Amritsar. From there he spread the mission of Yoga and established the institution of Yog Sadhan Ashram with branches at Chheharata (Amritser), Lahore and Rishikesh. During this period a large number of people learned Yoga and accepted Pabhu Ji as their Guru & Eesht (GOD). Amongst his many disciples Swami Mulakh Raj Ji Maharaj was very close to him. As per the prediction of Maharishi Kaka Bhushandi, the lord left his body at the age of 51 and before that, he gave all the powers and responsibilities to Swami Mulakh Raj ji Maharaj and appointed him as the Pradhanacharya (Chief-In-Charge) of Yog Sadhan Ashram.
